This week a reflective poem I wrote three years ago.
The Heart of the Matter
Is the heart of the matter
the question at hand
or the substance of the discussion
the topic of the moment?
Is the heart of the matter
the emotional underpinning
we fear to let surface
to hide our true face
or admit the depths of feelings
polite conversation
fails to utter.

By far, this poem is the best one I’ve read.
Thanks, it’s funny how I never know which poem people will like or think is good. Maybe people like this because there was strong emotion behind it.

That’s why I just write everything that comes from my spirit, head, and heart, I never know either. When I write for myself, other people tend to enjoy my poems more. I guess the more personal you get, the more people will like them.
