January Beach Walk
Alaska white sun blazes
cloudless blue sky.
Water ripples like textured glass.
Waves lap lightly to shore.
Stream tinkles through ice
over rocks.
Couples stroll laugh.
Groups jump, stumble.
Dogs run and stare.
Towards sun
a lover’s gentle touch
on face.
Turn around
quiet wind slaps
like blowing ice.
A beautiful, gentle and very tranquil scene you’ve painted with this poem.
Thank you, it’s what keeps us here in Alaska, a sublime beauty.
I Love your beach and you reminding what I miss!!
Thanks.
Your words really carried me away – I could almost feel that touch of ice in the wind. I love the lines ‘stream tinkles through ice over rocks.’ What an astonishingly beautiful sound that must be. Thanks for taking me to your part of the world for a brief minute.
Thanks for your kind words. But, when nature writes the poetry it’s easy.
Such a lovely poem. Ah, the beach – I can only dream of it now 🙂
Thanks Shery.
